About Mark Pelley 'The Snake Hunter'
About Me
Hi, I'm Mark Pelley - The Snake Hunter. First and foremost, I'm a proud Australian father of 4 young girls who are growing up way too fast. I'm mostly known as 'The Snake Hunter' whereby I rescue people from snake and snakes from people as a 24/7 snake catcher based in Melbourne, but there is much more to me as you'll see below.

Background
Born in Australia, I grew up as a 3rd cultured kid across Taiwan and several countries in Asia. There as a small child, I used to pick up snakes all the time and go looking for them. My mother was deathly afraid of snakes so told me not to touch them. As a small boy, I took this to mean: "Don't tell mum your handling snakes". I would often as a child also go to the Buddhist temple. The statement "you are who you hang around" is so true as even though they couldn't speak English, just by being in their presence I learned meditation techniques that I still practice until today.

I mostly went to school in Australia and got married and became a father at 18. I worked 'normal jobs' for some time until becoming a single father in 2012. Since that date, I raised my 4 daughters as a single dad.

The Snake Hunter
After I became a single father, I was desperate for money so went back to my old skills of being a snake catcher. I worked and continued to operate as a single dad. During the day, I would wake up, prepare my children, drop them to school, come back, drive to a snake call out with my baby. I would show up, be directed to the snake, hand them my baby and say: "Hold this". I would catch the snake and then walk off with money to feed my children, snake in one hand and baby in the other. I would do this all day and then pick up my children from school, feed and entertain them, tuck them into bed and then study all night to better myself. I did this until they were old enough to be 'mostly' independent (except for money). Now that my children had grown up, I was ready to get married again and did in 2025 to the beautiful Mrs Snake Hunter.
