SNAKE ON A PLANE 02 July 2025

Shadow on Concrete Wall

The Initial Call

I got a call stating from Virgin ground staff stating there was a snake on a plane and they needed me there urgently as the plane was stuck on the tarmac unable to move or load luggage on board.

I raced there immediately and was the only person in history allowed to park in the drop off area and leave my car there. It took a long time to go through security as I was carrying metal hooks and to be taken onto the tarmac where you need to have the highest level of security.

Snake on a plane

The plane was a Virgin Brisbane bound plane that had everyone sitting on board trying to look out the window. I climbed up into the cargo area to see a snake (that I couldnt yet identify) attempting to squeeze between the panels and get into the plane. Realising I had seconds to react, I ran forward and without knowing what kind of snake it was, grabbed with with my hands before it was out of reach. Had I missed, the engineers and I would be spending the next few days pulling apart a Boeing 737 looking for a snake.

Snake Caught On A Plane

I captured the snake crouching down and put it in my box. The Virgin crew did an amazing job keeping me safe in a situation I've never been in before. After, the crew loaded up baggage and the plane was on the way to Brisbane.

I was escorted out to my car and thanked the staff for their professionalism. As I was driving out of the airport my phone began to ring. Next thing I knew I was getting multiple calls from different networks across Australia. I don't know how the news got out so fast but soon, all of Australia was aware of the snake on a plane.
